FontsOnCD is a font browsing utility that allows you to browse your TrueType fonts without waste of system resources. Major FontsOnCD feature - tiny size and possibility to write a program on CD jointly with your font collection for automatic browsing. You can place FontsOnCD in any folder of your CD image and the program will show all TrueType fonts existing on disk starting by root disk folder.

Font View allows you to see all of the fonts installed on your system, and view them as they are applied to a sample phrase. You can change the sample phrase to whatever you would like and adjust the text size / formatting , so you can see what any specific word or sentence will look like with the font you select. You also have the ability to export font list to a file.

Font View is a little freeware utility for viewing and testing your installed fonts. Using the tester panel you can experiment with the size, color and style of a phrase to help you choose which font to use.

Font Maker is a small, simple program to create, edit and manipulate text fonts. Font Maker does not require any installation, not even unzipping, and is quite small sized (1.15Mb). When you create a font you may apply anti-alias, change text colour or the background color.

FontRenamer is free and renames truetype font files (*.ttf) to the real name of the typefaces. Simply select a folder of font files and click Rename button. »Arial bold italic.ttf« instead of »arialbi.ttf« or »Brush Script.ttf« instead of »brushscn.ttf«. FontRenamer is available in English and German language (auto detect).

CharView by BB is a VB6 application which allows easy viewing of your system fonts. This is very handy for those who wish to use the graphics in Dingbats and Wingding type fonts. Those type of graphics allow you to insert "speech bubbles" and the like into documents, pictures or brochures.

To insert Wingding style graphics into a picture, just use your favorite paint program and then add text. By pressing the right key at the right time, you will add the right graphic. The problem is to know which key makes the picture you want.

"Paleofonts V. 2" is an *exe file of c. 17 Mb which is unpacked by default in a separate folder, of c. 38 Mb, from where it can be installed into "Windows"´s "Fonts" folder. With additional software and separate procedures, the True Tupe Fonts may work under some "Linux" distributions. The compilation contains 279 paleographic True Type Files plus a brief *pdf document entitled "Explanation", providing some technical and legal statements. The fonts are designed by various authors, whose intellectual property they represent. The credit for the creation of these fonts is all theirs. All of the fonts are free for personal as well as academic use, but not for commercial purposes such as reselling, charging for use, hiring.

The fonts embody dozens of ancient scripts that have been (and in some instances few of them are still being used) for millennia around the Mediterranean sea, as well as Northern, Central and Eastern parts of Europe, ancient Egypt and Near and Middle East.
