LetterDrop provides secure communications in office and university environments as an alternative to traditional email. The program looks and feels like an email client, complete with spellchecker, inbox/outbox but works in a different way - it uses a shared resource on a network and allows secure communication on the LAN between all other Letterdrop users. No one will know you are using LetterDrop, messages are thoroughly encrypted with a choice of encryption algorithms (DES, DES3 or Blowfish), no contact details are ever transmitted, and LetterDrop does not use the email system.
